Davina Learning from the business expert Cheong, to learn the trick of the Cashflow 101.

Wow, this is how much the leader, Ling, had, after he got out from the Rat Race. So many "0" in his cash bill.
The game is not yet over, but looks like Ling is far far far far ahead of the others. He has millions on hand while we are still struggling to get out from the Rat Race.

Gathering at Anne's Resident (Mile 6)

We had another great time @ Anne Tan's Resident on 15th Feb.

We celebrated Ling's birthday with a Pandan Cheese Cake. The cake was nice, evening Anne who had vowed to only have a small piece end up doubling her order.

We had sumptuous steamboat and wine before we start the actual business..... CASHFLOW 101 invented by the famous author, Robert Kiyosaki.
Shane Ho explain how the game works :-)

Norman "was" the richest among all when the game started, where Datin Grace only got 1/5 of Norman's $$$
After 3 hours of educational game, Ling How Kee emerge as the player with most cashflow, but the game is not done yet..... To be continue....
Till then, have fun! cheers :-)

Valentine's Meeting On 13th February 2009

We had plenty of fun on 13th February training meeting. Despite only 12 members turn out for the meeting, it is definately one of the fun-filled, happy and entertaining club meetings.

We have two new members, Jimmy and Winnie, dressed in matching dresses (both black colour).

Jimmy and Winnie have delivered their Ice-Breaker speech in the meeting, and we now feel like knowing them for ages already.

Jimmy was inducted during the meeting

So does Winnie.

The most enjoyable moment was during the table topics session, where members share their experience on love, romance & marriage.
A member quoted: "My husband is a very China man person, he never sent me any flowers except the day we got married. One fine day, I receive a bouquet of flowers without the name of the sender, only initials, and I have no idea who sent it, but I am sure it will not be my husband. When I told my husband a "silly fellow" had sent me a bouquet of flower with only initials on it. My husband says "that's me lah!".... lol
Another member quoted: "I have planned a dinner with my wife tomorrow, at the famous hotel in town, we will have a sumptious and delicious valentine's dinner together...... in conjunction with my company's annual dinner".
Another member quoted: "I am a very China man guy, I will ask my wife what she wanted for Valentines day or Birthday or any other occation. and she always answer me... "no needlah". So, I give her what she asked for.... "No need".
and there are many more entertaining answers during the table topics session.
Missed the fun? come to the next meeting on 26th February 2009 (Thursday) @ 7.00pm, Mark's Lodge. TME is ACB David Chong with HP:0198836762

Gathering at Anne's Resident (Mile 6)

Who is Robert Kiyosaki? He is the author of the best selling book series titled "Rich Dad, Poor Dad", and he is the idol of Toastmasters Shane Ho.
We are organizing a gathering at Anne's Resident this coming Sunday (15/2/2009), 2pm to have a social-get-together cum playing the famous game invented by Mr. Robert, The "Cashflow 101".
Robert, in his books, stated that it doesn't matter how much you make if you are an employee, self-employed or business owner, when you are sick or absents, you don't get paid. And he invited this CASHFLOW IOI to educate us through games, on how to achieve financial freedom.
Some long-time-no-see Toastmasters will be coming as well. So, come along and join the fun!
See you there!

10 Tips for Public Speaking

Feeling some nervousness before giving a speech is natural and even beneficial, but too much nervousness can be detrimental. Here are some proven tips on how to control your butterflies and give better presentations:

Know your material. Pick a topic you are interested in. Know more about it than you include in your speech. Use humor, personal stories and conversational language – that way you won’t easily forget what to say.

Practice. Practice. Practice! Rehearse out loud with all equipment you plan on using. Revise as necessary. Work to control filler words; Practice, pause and breathe. Practice with a timer and allow time for the unexpected.

Know the audience. Greet some of the audience members as they arrive. It’s easier to speak to a group of friends than to strangers.
Know the room. Arrive early, walk around the speaking area and practice using the microphone and any visual aids.

Relax. Begin by addressing the audience. It buys you time and calms your nerves. Pause, smile and count to three before saying anything. ("One one-thousand, two one-thousand, three one-thousand. Pause. Begin.) Transform nervous energy into enthusiasm.

Visualize yourself giving your speech. Imagine yourself speaking, your voice loud, clear and confident. Visualize the audience clapping – it will boost your confidence.

Realize that people want you to succeed. Audiences want you to be interesting, stimulating, informative and entertaining. They’re rooting for you.

Don’t apologize for any nervousness or problem – the audience probably never noticed it.

Concentrate on the message – not the medium. Focus your attention away from your own anxieties and concentrate on your message and your audience.

Gain experience. Mainly, your speech should represent you — as an authority and as a person. Experience builds confidence, which is the key to effective speaking. A Toastmasters club can provide the experience
