Area K2, Humorous & Evaluation Speech Contest

Yes, the club did it again! Sandakan Toastmasters Club has successfully organized the Area K2 Humorous Speech & Evaluation Speech contests on 27 Sept 2009, with participation from Sandakan Toastmasters Club, Pidato Toastmasters Club and Tawau Toastmasters Club. The results are as follows:-

Humorous Speech:-

1. Grace Yong - Pretty Woman (Tawau Toastmasters Club)
2. Shane Ho - A Date with a Toastmaster (Sandakan Toastmasters Club)

Evaluation Speech:-

1. Norman Chin (Sandakan Toastmasters Club)
2. Grace Yong (Tawau Toastmasters Club)

24th Sept 2009 Meeting

It was a great night! Many members turned up last night and our "past-past-past" area governor ACB Luna Chua and her daughter were also there. Apart from having two speakers for the manual speeches, the participants who are representing the club to the Area level this Sunday were given stage time to "polish" their competition speeches.

Wordmaster of the day, Tm Vannessa Lim reporting on how many times her chosen word 'magical' was used.

Humorous & Evaluation Speech Contest

The club has successfully held the Humorous Speech & Evaluation Speech contests on the 10th September 2009 with quite a number of contestants. The contest chair for that night was none other than our very own VPE, Alice Kok, CC. The results are as below:-

OMG!? Look at those....


FOOOoooood!!!!! and only RM10! (for each member)

Food for the steamboat party.... beancurds, fishballs, 50 cents size Scallops and much more.

(Slurp..Slurp....sorry, I'm still salivating from the thought of those great food)

Yummy..Yummy.. huge 'springy' fish balls that are not easily found in the local markets. I wonder where our host Lili got them??? !

Oh~ now come the king of all kings! Giant oysters!!! Gosh~ you have no idea how high our cholesterol has shot up that night... have to eat more fish after this... to get those Omega 3 coming in.


Colorful Desserts!!!!


Our favourite!!!!.... Very delicious mango pudding! The texture and taste of the pudding were so much better than those served in the hotel restaurants.

While most of the members relaxed after dinner, the host and our mentor chair washed the dishes.. and what was the organizing chairperson doing back there with Henry?

The highlight of the day: -

"come with an empty stomach, but leave with a tummy & a smile"


Everyone enjoyed the night. Thank you all for your time and especially to our host Li Li for preparing all those GREAT food! Can we have more of that?.... hahaha...
